The Cheech Marin & Riverside Art Museum’s Newest Exhibition 10/4-1/11
October 4, 2025 @ 8:00 am - January 11, 2026 @ 5:00 pm
The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of the Riverside Art Museum’s latest exhibition is Soy de Tejas: A Statewide Survey of Latinx Art, curated by San Antonio–born independent curator Rigoberto Luna. The landmark exhibition is making its California museum premiere at (October 4, 2025–January 11, 2026).
Nearly 40 Latinx artists are featured—identifying from Chicano to Puerto Rican—representing the seven geographic regions of Texas and spanning 15 cities, from Dallas to Brownsville. While conceptually Soy de Tejas has remained consistent, Luna has adapted each presentation to fit the specific needs of its host community and gallery space. This flexibility has allowed for the inclusion of new works that respond to evolving current events, with each venue also premiering original pieces created especially for its iteration.
