CalKIDS Scholarship worth up to $1500

As the school year kicks off, many students already have a unique opportunity waiting for them: a CalKIDS Scholarship worth up to $1500, part of the state’s $354 million investment in the Inland Empire students.

Through CalKIDS, more than 7 in 10 Inland Empire public school students in grades 2–12 are automatically eligible for up to $1,500 each—funds that can help cover tuition, books, supplies, or even computers at accredited colleges, universities, and career training programs nationwide.

Checking eligibility and claiming funds is easier than ever. Families can claim their CalKIDS Scholarship Account today at CalKIDS.org using their child’s 10-digit Statewide Student Identifier (SSID).

When the student turns 17 and enrolls in an accredited college or career training program, they can request a distribution to their institution to cover qualifying expenses such as tuition and fees, books and supplies, or computer equipment. Over time, CalKIDS Scholarship Account funds may earn extra money because they are set aside and invested until the student is ready for college or career training.
