Wow, too many people dying too young this week. Adam Yauch, who you know better as MCA of the groundbreaking Beastie Boys, passed away today at the age of 47 after battling cancer for the last few years. They were just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last month, but MCA was unfortunately to ill (he did have “A License to Ill” if you recall the line from their song “Paul Revere”) to perform at the ceremony. Highlights of the ceremony will be shown on HBO tomorrow night. Kid Rock and members of The Roots filled in and performed “Sabotage” for them. Friday night out at the Coachella music festival, Creedence Clearwater Revival founder John Fogerty joined the Black Keys to play The Band’s classic song The Weight in his memory. Man, the NFL sure as hell knows how to keep people talking about it all year long, don’t they? The draft is just around the corner, and today they released the full schedule for the upcoming season. It all opens up on Wednesday, September 5th, with the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants taking on their division rival Dallas Cowboys. The first Sunday night game features Stuman’s Steelers heading to Denver to face the now Peyton Manning led Denver Broncos. Monday night? Opening weekend double header once again. Cincinnati taking on Baltimore at 4pm on Sunday, September 10th, and then they let loose the rivalry right out of the gate with the Raiders and the Chargers banging heads at 7:15pm!
