Rock band Weezer announced via Twitter on Monday (April 19) that they have teamed up consumer robot company iRobot to create “Wroomba,” a new version of the robot vacuum Roomba.
Weezer have invited listeners to enter to win their own robot-vacuuming “house companion” in a contest where five lucky people will end up with a Wroomba.
“Are you longing for a new friend?” Weezer asked in the tweet. “Perhaps a robot one that cleans up after you? We got you covered. Introducing the Wroomba (the w is silent). Enter to win one on wroomba.com.”
Weezer posted a video featuring a short demo of the custom-skinned Roomba. “Studies show that 9/10 humans have dreamed of Weezer cleaning their house, but it simply wasn’t possible until now,” it states.
The i7 robot vacuum cleaner, worth around $1,000, comes with a premium three-stage cleaning system with dual multi-surface rubber brushes. It also sports automatic dirt disposal and connectivity to the iRobot Home app.
