Volbeat Earn Ninth No. 1 On Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart With ‘Wait A Minute My Girl’

Volbeat have earned their ninth No. 1 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, thanks to “Wait a Minute My Girl.”

“Wait a Minute My Girl” rose from No. 2 to the top spot on the August 21-dated chart.

The band previously ruled the chart with “Die to Live,” featuring Neil Fallon in March 2020. Volbeat topped the chart for the first time in 2012, when “Still Counting” reigned for two weeks in July.

The band is now tied for the 10th-most No. 1s in the chart’s 40-year history, alongside Aerosmith.

“Wait a Minute My Girl” also rose from 11th to 9th spot on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with 2.9 million audience impressions, up 3%, according to MRC Data.
