Rob Zombie To Direct Reboot Of ‘The Munsters’

Rob Zombie, the co-founder of the heavy metal band White Zombie, has confirmed rumors that he is going to direct a film adaptation of the popular ’60s sitcom “The Munsters.”

“Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS! Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!” the musician-director wrote on his Instagram page on Monday.

However, Zombie did not confirm an earlier report that he is also doing the movie’s script writing for Universal Studios.

The film is from Universal Studios’ 1440 Productions division, NBCU confirmed. A theatrical release of The Munsters is unlikely, but it will stream on Peacock, reports say.

The rocker-turned-filmmaker’s previous projects include the trilogy of horror movies – House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and 3 From Hell.
