2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Southern California

launches in Inland Empire & San Bernardino County
Monday, June 1 – Wednesday, June 3

Starting in San Diego, more than 300 law enforcement agencies and Special Olympics athletes will carry the Flame of Hope across seven Southern California counties, culminating June 5 at Cal State Long Beach to launch the 2026 Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games.

WHO:   Members of Inland Empire Law Enforcement Agencies, plus Special Olympics Southern California Athletes:

  • June 1st: 12:00pm San Bernardino SD – Chino Hills; Chino Police Department; Montclair PD
  • June 2nd: 8:00am Riverside Police Department
  • June 3 –  San Bernardino School Police

 

LETR FUNDRAISING AND RUN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The 2025 Southern California Law Enforcement Torch Run program raised nearly $1.3 million through special fundraising events. Officers from law enforcement agencies across the state volunteer their time to support their local athletes and collect donations from civic groups, local businesses and generous community members.
  • In the 2025 Torch Run, over 3,000 law enforcement officers proudly carried the Special Olympics Torch across 1,100+ miles and through 200+ communities, spreading awareness and championing inclusion throughout Southern California.
  • Every dollar raised by local law enforcement directly supports SOSC athletes by covering transportation, uniforms, equipment, and venue costs, ensuring athletes can train and compete at no cost to them.
