THE AMITY AFFLICTION are from Gympie, Queensland Australia & formed together in 2003.
This track pays tribute to the memory of late musician and “dear friend” Sean Kennedy who rose to fame in Australia’s metal scene for his tenure as bassist in bands: I Killed The Prom Queen and Deez Nuts. He passed away back in February at age 35, however no cause of death was made public at the time.
The song shifts between positive and negative, hope and hopelessness, and draws on an intimate knowledge of drug use and depression and how the two are often inextricably linked in their personal devastation, while also acknowledging the peace for those who suffer once they are gone.
