If you are into photography, any kind of photography, you need to check out the Pro Photo Expo & Conference. Hosted by the Professional Photographers of California, the event is March 26th through the 29th at the Pasadena Convention Center. I’m honored to be one of the speakers this year, and I will be talking all things concert photography. You may have seen some of my shots here on the KCAL site, but if not there are few below.
Don’t let the name fool you, you do not have to be a “Pro” to attend the Conference or Expo. If you take pictures, and based on the sale of selfie sticks, a lot of people do, then this event might help you become better.
My presentation is on March 29th from 7 am to 8:30 am, and I will be touching on everything from how to gain access to shows, and the technical issues involved. to etiquette and post production. My summary is on the Expo site here, but check out the whole schedule. There are some great sessions. This year the Keynotes are amazing! The first is from the Photoshop Hall of Famer, and Canon Explorer of Light, Eddie Tapp, and then there is combat photographer Stacey Pearsall.
My favorite session title award goes to the Inland Empire’s own Troy Miller, a multiple award winning Wedding photographer. His sessions is called:
The fun, lighting, lay down, climb on things, edit, photograph, and make wonderful images while learning as we make friends despite all the technology that gets in our way workshop.
You can see his summary here.
You can attend the entire event, or just a single day, but if you like photography…. you should go.
Hope to see ya there!
