We’ve got some more balls coming from AC/DC! You’ve been hearing the rumblings and now we’ve got some details…AC/DC have announced that they will release their first new album in six years, “Rock or Bust”, on Dec. 2. And we’ll be hearing the first bit of it, a song called (of course) ‘Play Ball’ from the album during the Major League Baseball Playoffs starting next week on TBS. There will also be a world tour coming in 2015. Here’s a promo clip with a bit of the new song in it:
However, there is also the sad news we all knew was coming to report, as the band revealed that founding guitarist Malcolm Young will not be returning to the group. This is a result of the undisclosed illness that kept him out of the recording sessions for “Rock or Bust”.
Malcolm and Angus Young’s nephew, Stevie Young, who has played with the band on tour many times over the years and played rhythm guitar on the album, will step up and become a permanent member of the band.
So, Let There Be More AC/DC Rock!!!
The Pink Floyd album you’ve heard rumors about is coming out on November 10th. Here’s the cover art of The Endless River. Guitarist David Gilmour says, “‘The Endless River’ has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 ‘Division Bell’ sessions. We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album,” he explained. “Over the last year we’ve added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire.”
18 tracks, 17 of them instrumental. You can hear a 30 second snippet on through their web site.
