Space has been in the news quite a bit lately. The Mars rover Curiosity just touched down on the red planet and is already sending back amazing images. The International Space Station was visible to the naked eye recently as it passed over Southern California the other night.
But Saturday night the Perseid Meteor Shower will be the thing to watch. Getting out of the city is your best bet. All the lights of the city create what’s called “light pollution” and makes viewing the meteor shower difficult. Go to the desert or up into the mountains for the best viewing experience.
NASA officials say that after midnight the meteor shower could produce as many as 100 per hour.
