Here at 96-7 KCAL Rocks, we like to leave the political analysis to people who know what they’re talking about.  There was, however, one little thing in the aftermath of last week’s mid-term elections that just wrapped up that caught our eye.  We dug up this update that Forbes ran six months ago.  Oh, and that was before last week’s electoral fun.

We’ll spare you the boring political analysis and get to these notable facts:  Republicans just won control of the Minnesota legislature for the first time in 38 years, promising to cut government spending and deficits.  They elected a Republican governor too.  Minnesota is $6 billion in the hole right now.

Jimbo’s beloved Vikings want a new stadium.  Their lease on the Metrodome is up after next season.  If the Democrats refused to give them a new stadium last May, what do you thing the GOP will do?

Of course, the NFL has gone thumbs down on the Coliseum and Rose Bowl for pro ball for some time now, right?  Well, in case you’ve missed it, there’s this little number potentially lurking freeway close where the 60 and the 57 collide.  There’s also been talk of a location near Staples Center getting back in the game.

Something’s gotta give: Will it be Minnesota’s money?  If not, Jimbo may be renting out a yacht in Newport to welcome the team with another Love Boat cruise.  For the rest of us, well, wouldn’t you love to have a local football team owned by a guy named Zygi?
