Slash received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame this morning, right in front of the Hard Rock on Hollywood & Highland. He was joined by former bandmates Steven Adler and Gilby Clarke and current bandmate Myles Kennedy, as well as his family and friends. Also showing up to support Slash was actor Clifton Collins, Jr., who was the man responsible for nominating Slash for the star. Movie producer Robert Evans and Slash’s neighbor Charlie Sheen spoke about their friend at the ceremony.
Charlie shared the story of the text he got from Slash asking him to speak at the event – and couldn’t help insulting Slash’s former G’N'R buddy Axl Rose. “It’s fitting Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on,” joked Charlie. This was probably the best line of the day. For his part, Slash was humbled and honoured by the gesture and the large crowd that turned out for the event.
