Who ever really CHOSE the iron to be their token anyway?  You only got it if all the other ones were chosen first, right?  Well, Monopoly fans from over 120 countries voted over a month-long period to save their favorite token.  The iron is officially out.

And for the first time in all its existence a new Monopoly game piece token will be a part of the game, replacing the iron.  Thank you cat lovers!

That’s the new cat token replacing the iron.  The Scottie dog was always my first token choice.  But being an avid cat lover, this will be my new piece!  The other tokens that almost got tossed out were the wheelbarrow and the shoe.  Your new Monopoly game with the cat token will be released by Hasbro this fall – just in for Christmas!
