If you have ever been to New Orleans or you know something about the city you know that their cemeteries are above ground. But a local resident found out that it was not always that way.

Homeowner Vincent Marcello lives in the historic French Quarter and decided to put a swimming pool in his backyard. Little did he know that what would be unearthed were 13 caskets with all the bodies intact from a 1700-era cemetery. It is believed to be the very first cemetery established in the city. That’s pretty freaky, don’t you think?
