I was watching a spring training game on cable this weekend when I saw that logo above on one of the teams’ hats. I thought to myself, “Are they playing a college team or something?”. Nope, it is the new major league logo for what they are now calling the Miami Marlins (formerly the Florida Marlins).
Now that is bad enough, but they’ve also got a new stadium. Wait’ll you see the new feature that comes to life when a Marlin hits a home run at the new stadium:
Longtime Laker fan favorite was traded to the Houston Rockets minutes before the NBA trade deadline today. D-Fish is truly one of the good guys in the NBA. Nothing but class, and nothing but clutch when you needed him most. Here’s wishing him good luck, and hoping that when he’s done he comes back to be part of the Lakers family forever.
Enjoy some of his most legendary moments…oh, and do yourself a favor and be sure to click on the full screen option to really enjoy it.
226 feet and 10 inches. Dude broke the Guinness World Record by throwing a paper airplane 75 yards. Three quarters of the length of a football field…
This time, Eddie Vedder singing “Jeremy (Lin)”.
Daryl’s blog about sandwich stadiums got me hungry and got me to thinking – what do most Americans eat on football’s biggest game day? Plus, what are they serving in the boxes this Sunday at the stadium in Indianapolis?
How do you spend the Saturday before the Big Game? By building a sandwich meat replica of the stadium the game will be played in, of course…
Hype songs. If you are a student, or family member of a student, at any of America’s great institutions of higher education, please please please learn this lesson and never forget it: NEVER MAKE A HYPE VIDEO! EVER!!!
Anyway, the wholesome, pastyfaced young men and women of the University of Missourah decided to take their shot at a hype video this week, dropping a series of s-bombs (as in “screw red & blue”, not as in, well, never mind).
Congrats, Mizzou! Welcome to the Hype Song Hall Of Fail. Other glorious members after the jump.
Nope, not Dodger Stadium…but close! It’s one of the replica fields at the new Big League Dreams facility in Perris Valley. You may have been to one of the other Big League Dreams locations around So. Cal. before, they’ve got ‘em in Jurupa Valley, Chino Hills, West Covina, and out in the desert in Cathedral City, but they just opened the new one out in Romoland this past Saturday…
What do you get when you cross David Bowie and Tim Tebow? TeBowie!!! Jimmy Fallon is helping you get ready for round 2 of the NFL playoffs this weekend. It’s even worth sitting through the 15 second commercial at the start. Enjoy!
I am excited by the list of names who could be the new owners of my beloved Dodgers. Among those who have submitted bids for the team are former owners Peter O’Malley and Fox Sports, Magic Johnson, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, talk show host Larry King and former Dodger players Steve Garvey and Orel Hershiser. And now two new names (joined together) have been added to the list of bidders for the Dodgers – I want these dudes to get the team! Also, what’s the deadline for new owners to take over? Will it be before the new season starts? Read more if you’d like…aka Dodger fans…
