Crue

Well, we all knew it was coming, and now we’ve got the details about Motley Crue’s huge Final Tour. They’ve decided to call it quits as a touring band while they can still rock the hell out of an arena, and we’ll have a couple of chances to catch them here in So Cal:

Monday, July 21st at the Hollywood Bowl and
Tuesday, July 22nd at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine.

They held a press conference to announce the shows and the addition of a special guest for the full tour, the legendary Alice Cooper will open up each night.

Keep listening for your chance to win tickets to both of the shows on 96-7 KCAL Rocks!!

Well…sort of? Green Day’s American Idiot, the ground breaking musical is coming to the California Theatre in San Berdo on May 19th!

I know it sounds strange to mix punk tunes with a musical but the show actually looks really rad and the critics think so too!! Check out the video below and let me know what you think!

If you’re going to be hitting one of the Eagles shows that are heralding the grand re-opening of the Forum in Inglewood, check out this great photo tour taking you inside and all around the newly remodeled arena from Curbed LA to get you ready. The MSG group has really done an amazing job turning the legendary venue into a great music only facility. I guess $100 million will do that, right?

Listen for your chance to win tickets to catch the Eagles there each morning with Stu, Tiffany, and Jimbo. Plus, we’ll be breaking them out all weekend long as we celebrate the best damn state in the country with a California At The Top Weekend!

Black Sabbath is teaming up with Converse to release a new line of Chuck Taylor All-Star hi-tops. Can you imagine looking any cooler on the court (or on your way to their final show of the 13 Tour at the Hollywood Bowl in April) than you would in a pair of these? You can go classic first album:

Paranoid:

Or just go with the Band:

Or Volume 4:

Here are all the details for you. They’re talking about $60 bucks a pair, so should you find yourself at a loss for what to buy me, I’m usually a size 12. Just sayin’…

“We wish all of our fans a great Christmas and a very metal New Year!,” wrote the band. “We will be releasing a new album sometime in 2014 so stay tuned!”

This past summer, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford shared an update on the band’s follow-up to 2008′s “Nostradamus.” “The writing process is complete,” Halford told Billboard. “Now it’s the painstaking work of making sure that you get every single note, every single nuance of the vocal, every tiny aspect…right. We’re still tracking (instruments). It’s just a very laborious but enjoyable part of making the record.”

Here’s a little something to get you motivated!

METALLICA recently played an hour-long, 10-song set in Antarctica, to become the FIRST BAND EVER to perform on all seven continents. Here’s the updated HD video of the concert. They filmed the show and called it “Freeze ‘Em All”,

MAIN SET
1. Creeping Death
2. For Whom the Bell Tolls
3. Sad But True
4. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
5. Master of Puppets
6. One
7. Blackened
8. Nothing Else Matters
9. Enter Sandman
10. Seek & Destroy

The audience consisted of about 120 scientists and contest winners, and because of the “fragile environment”, the music couldn’t be amplified in the traditional sense. Instead, amplifiers were enclosed in isolation cabinets, and the crowd had to listen though HEADPHONES.

There was no waiting around for the guys that shook up the rock world back in 1991 with the release of their game changing Nevermind album that introduced grunge to the masses. The Seattle legends got in in their first year of eligibility. Here’s the other side of the band:

And Kiss made the cut this time around after being on the edge for the last few years:

And check them out back in the day on Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert TV show:

They’ll be joined by Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, and Hall and Oates at the induction ceremony in New York in April, and we’ll all be able to enjoy the highlights when they air in May.
