US Festival

Check out this shot of KCAL at the US Festival! Thanks to KCAL rocker Sean Syfers for finding this picture and sharing it with us for Throwback Thursday. You Rock, Sean! Now, do you wanna really trip out? We recently got a message from a listener asking if we wanted an old banner of ours back. He said his uncle and some friends had had stolen it from the US Festival on a dare, and it has been moving around garages of the IE for 30 something years ever since. Sadly, the uncle is in failing health and wanted to clear his conscience before he passed away, so he told his nephew to return the banner. The nephew (who wanted to remain anonymous, but is a really good guy) dropped it off:

And here it is with 4orty and Daryl holding it. The old Rock Spectrum lives in the new studio!!!

Glory17-062114-126

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of doing photos at what many considered the most stacked fight card in kickboxing history. The Forum was the location for Glory 17 – Last Man Standing. First of all, I have to give props to Glory for choosing LA as the spot for such a great event. The night started with five undercard fights, and then was simulcast on Spike TV for the Glory 17 portion of the night. After that, it switched to PPV for the Last Man Standing 8 man tournament. That tournament was crazy. Three fights in one night to win it, and these guys brought it!

The undercard was great. A number of the fighters have also fought locally for Dennis Warner’s WCK, and to watch them on this kind of stage was exciting…

Who knew? Apparently Pink Floyd made an official promo video for Money from the legendary Dark Side of the Moon album back in 1973, but it has somehow managed to not be available on the internet until now. So let’s check it out and see how they did with the 41 year old technology:

You know, I’ve seen worse!

It was 17 years ago, and the Angels had those ugly old Disney uniforms, but Jim Edmonds made the one of the most amazing catches ever!
