We’re less than a month away from the new album, 13. You guys have been all over the first song “God is Dead?”, so here are some more details about what we can expect.

It’s always nice to talk to Sebastian Bach but you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get. It’s always a toss up. Check out this interview on the 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Black Carpet. He’s cool and talks about what’s going on with his recently released Live DVD and the new album he’s working on, but watch his reaction when I ask about the old Skid Row songs. (Insert cricket sounds after the question) I honestly thought he was going to start hurling insults for asking him about those songs. Funny thing is, when he presented an award later that night at the Golden Gods Awards, the first thing he did was mention three Skid Row songs. Sebastian is cool though and he’s always nice when I run into him. Enjoy!!!

It’s been a difficult past year for Queensryche. They parted ways with original singer Geoff Tate and brought Todd La Torre on board as their new lead singer. After some legal battles they are ready to release their new album on June 25th, simply titled, Queensryche. Check out this very forthcoming and honest interview.

It’s always fun to run into Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. He’s always funny and never lacks confidence as you’ll hear in this interview. He was nominated for the Paul Grey Best Bassist Award at the 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

Rudy Sarzo of Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Ozzy and Dio fame has now joined forces with Geoff Tate in Geoff Tate’s Queensryche. It was very cool of him to stop and talk to 96.7 KCAL Rocks on the Black Carpet. Listen to what he has to say about performing Operation Mindcrime in its entirety.

It was great fun to have the opportunity to speak with former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted at the 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Awards. The Black Carpet was filled with reporters and journalists and Jason took a couple of minutes to speak to our KCAL Rockers. Jason has put together a new band called Newsted, has released an EP and is hitting the road this summer with Megadeth on the Gigantour.

The Revolver Golden Gods Black Carpet event was a blast. It all happened last Thursday evening at the Nokia Theater at LA Live in Los Angeles. I had the pleasure of interviewing Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson about their upcoming co-headlining tour and about Alice’s forthcoming covers album. Marilyn Manson was the comedic sidekick during the interview. He seemed to let the veteran rocker, Alice, take the lead. Hope you enjoy the interview.

This past weekend it was Metallica Day at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Check out their sweet rendition on the National Anthem:

Metallica Night happens at AT & T Park in San Francisco in conjunction with the Dodgers/Giants game tomorrow night. Big congrats to the winner of KCAL Workforce Getaway #2 who’ll be flying up there for the fun. Metallica is getting geared up for the event by releasing a video of them jammimg with Giants pitcher, Barry Zito. Pretty cool!

They’ll also be auctioning off the custom guitars they use to perform the National Anthem…
