It’s the easiest contest ever! Just take a picture of yourself, or someone else, throwing the rock horns and send it in to firstname.lastname@example.org. That’s it. You’re entered to win a trip to San Francisco to catch Metallica Night at A T & T Park on Friday May 16th! We’ve even got our new 3-D billboard throwing the horns on the northbound 215 just before Barton Road.
The KCAL Rockers have been sending in some great shots, from some great locations, and with some great guests so far. Check out a bunch of them here. And a bunch more here. But be sure to get yours in by Tuesday the 29th at midnight, because we find out who’s gonna win on Stu, Tiffany, and Jimbo’s show on Wednesday the 30th!
So, Show Us Your Horns Inland Empire…You Rock!
Did you go to church on Sunday or smoke pot? Kimmel’s pedestrian question is hilarious!
Well, the after all of the rumors and speculation, the induction ceremonies for this year’s class heading inot the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame put on what most are saying was a very entertaining show! Joan Jett came out with Nirvana and kicked into Smells Like teen Spirit, and the band was joined by several others during their set. better yet, they all went out after the ceremonies and found a cool little bar in Brooklyn to jam in till the wee hours of the morning. How’s you have liked to stumble into that place? Here’s a little cell phone video shot from the crowd:
The founding members of Kiss managed to put aside most of their hostility towards each other (for a few minutes anyway) and all came up and accepted their place in the Hall after a great speech by Rage Against The Machine and Audisoslave’s amazing guitarist, Tom Morello. Morello talked about how Kiss inspired him to pick up a guitar, and how all the crap his high school classmates gave him about liking Kiss made him tougher and more passionate about his music.
Even surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novelselick, and Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, managed to put aside years of throwing daggers back and forth and not kill each other as they took the stage together.
Looking forward to checking out the whole show when it comes on HBO in late May!
I had a blast judging the 2014 San Bernardino High School Mr. Cardinal Competition yesterday! I was so impressed with all of the contestants especially Samuel Moreno who won the whole thing! He will now represent SBHS at over 100 charity events over the next year! Go Cardinals!
And yeah I am wearing a suit! Can you believe it!?
We started with 64 of the greatest KCAL Rock songs of all time, placed them in brackets by decade, and then threw them out at you to vote on and decide your favorites. Now, we’ve got the winners from the four brackets facing off over the weekend for the title of KCAL Rock Madness 2014 Champion! You can vote once per day for the song you want to win, and each vote gets you one more entry into the drawing for the grand prize, $5000 cash! We’ll find out what song wins on Monday afternoon at 6 o’clock with Daryl and Patrick. Then, Tuesday morning with Stu, Tiffany and Jimbo, we’ll find out which KCAL Rocker is gonna score the 5 grand just for voting!
