This Monday is the Fourth of July and hopefully you have the holiday off so it will be a 3-day weekend. There’s a few fireworks displays on Monday night around the Inland Empire. Plus, there are a few cities that allow “safe and sane” fireworks to be sold and enjoyed by you. If you do home fireworks remember to keep a bucket of water on the driveway and a hose out and near where the fireworks will be used. Jump ahead for all the details. Happy Birthday America!
Gourmet food trucks are popping up all over the country but you won’t see one in San Bernardino County . That’s because the County no longer allows them to cruise around and park it with their vast array of goodies. So Citizen’s Business Bank Arena in Ontario is hosting the I.E. Food Truck Fest on Saturday, June 18th. Sample food from 50 gourmet food trucks. And food is just a part of it. Read more and I’ll fill you in…and you…prepare to fill up!
I know I am not alone. Especially if you have a family and are looking for a inexpensive way to spend the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend. However, I know there a A LOT of people in the Inland Empire who have A) never been to the National Orange Show Festival and/or B) have not been since they were a child. That’s why I am here to tell you to give it a first or second chance. Don’t travel for the holiday weekend when there’s so much to do here at home.
Well yes, Mr. Ed was a pretty special horse. After all, he could talk! But I doubt if Mr. Ed ever got the treatment held specifically for a Kentucky Derby winner. Just what happens in a horse’s life when he wins the most prestigious horse race on earth? All the hay he can eat? Oh a little bit more than that my friends! Take the jump and see.
Great news for America with the demise of Osama bin Laden by our kick-ass Navy Seals. Sad times for our fellow Americans in the South with the devastating tornadoes. Help those folks out by going to the Red Cross website to donate.
Keeping with our United States theme, this Saturday we welcome back a decades long American Tradition. It’s actually over a hundred years old and more. The 137th Kentucky Derby is a national treasure and “The Greatest Two Minutes In Sports.”
I have always wanted to go and last summer I seriously searched out tickets, hotel, airfare and a group of people to share the trip with me. I’ll tell you how that turned out in a bit.
Also, do you know where the coolest place in the Inland Empire is to watch the Derby? Jump to the next page and I’ll set you up with that info, too.
Starting this morning and going on until tomorrow afternoon volunteers are beautifying KCAL’s hometown of Redlands. They will landscape the medium on Redlands Boulevard between Fern Avenue and Ford Street. That means that stretch of Redlands Boulevard is closed until late in the day tomorrow. The volunteers will also restore the dressing rooms and benches at the Redlands Bowl. There’s still time to participate. Get the details after the jump.
The Budweiser Clydesdales are stopping by 96-7 KCAL Rocks! Stop by the KCAL parking lot between 4PM and 6PM this Thursday. You know, the parking lot where we have the KCAL Keggers and drink A LOT of Anheuser Busch’s beer. Help us kick off race weekend at the Auto Club Speedway and then show some love for Kevin Harvick in the #29 Budweiser Chevy Impala on Sunday.
It is on today and tomorrow from Madison Square Garden in New York City. This year marks its 135th year. It’s always so fun to watch!
Although the Superbowl was Sunday facts and figures continue to emerge. This figure is enormous!
If you’re having a party for the Big Game this weekend, follow these simple rules and your friends will say “Hey, that party rocked!”
