Desirae is a 2nd generation KCAL Rocker from Riverside, her parents raised her right!
Despite hating smelly, short, cocky guys, Carla came in from Alta Loma and braved being in studio with Jimbo. He may have been little butt hurt.

Kristen from Riverside and Patrick posing for the movie “Frozen”. We think. We hope.

We had a great time hangng out with everyone at the Redlands Chili Cook-Off and Car Show this past weekend at Sylvan Park in Redlands! The weather was perfect for plenty of cold beers and live rockin’ from The Yard Dogs, plus the KCAL Chili won 1st Place!
We’re already making plans to be there again next year, and we hope the Redlands Optomist Club raised a ton of cash to help kids in the Inland Empire. Thanks to all the KCAL Rockers that came out for the fun. You Rock!
Well, the after all of the rumors and speculation, the induction ceremonies for this year’s class heading inot the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame put on what most are saying was a very entertaining show! Joan Jett came out with Nirvana and kicked into Smells Like teen Spirit, and the band was joined by several others during their set. better yet, they all went out after the ceremonies and found a cool little bar in Brooklyn to jam in till the wee hours of the morning. How’s you have liked to stumble into that place? Here’s a little cell phone video shot from the crowd:
The founding members of Kiss managed to put aside most of their hostility towards each other (for a few minutes anyway) and all came up and accepted their place in the Hall after a great speech by Rage Against The Machine and Audisoslave’s amazing guitarist, Tom Morello. Morello talked about how Kiss inspired him to pick up a guitar, and how all the crap his high school classmates gave him about liking Kiss made him tougher and more passionate about his music.
Even surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novelselick, and Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, managed to put aside years of throwing daggers back and forth and not kill each other as they took the stage together.
Looking forward to checking out the whole show when it comes on HBO in late May!
Time for all of the college hoops you can handle! The Tournament is underway, and the place to watch it is Dave & Busters in Ontario Mills, KCAL Tournament Headquarters! We’ll be out at D & B all day today and tomorrow catching all 32 of the 1st Round games with you.

Patrick will be hosting from 11am to 2pm both days, Kelli will be out there from 5pm to 8pm this evening, Jimbo form 5pm to 8pm on Friday, and The KCAL Crew will be breaking out all sorts of great prizes though out the day. Join the fun, and catch the action. We’ll see you there!
You’ve heard Stu, Tiffany, and Jimbo talking about it, and they’re giving away tickets every morning this week before you can buy them, for a special one of a kind Kiss show. Now, we can give you some more details!
KISS will play a rare acoustic show on Thursday, April 3 at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland, California, exactly one week before they are inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Billed as “Kiss: An Acoustic Evening And Stories With Kiss”, the concert will feature the band performing stripped-down versions of its classic songs without makeup and telling stories, a setup that is said to be “not unlike” the “MTV Unplugged” episode the band filmed nearly 20 years ago.
Tickets are $65-$75 and go on sale Friday, February 28 at 11 a.m. via Ticketmaster or at the box office at San Manuel. You must be 21 or older to attend the show. Listen to STJ for your chance to win, but if you don’t be sure to grab some through this link when they go on sale Friday morning!
We know that Motley Crue promised that their new set of shows at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas were going to be dangerous, and with a show name “An Intimate Evening in Hell”, we probably should’ve guessed there would be lots of pyrotechnics. According to the review of opening night, there is no lack of fire! Here’s a bit of not so great cell phone video for you too:
So, if you’re heading out to Sin City to catch one of the shows, and especially if you were one of our lucky winners of those killer VIP package, don’t forget to pack the fire-proof undies!
Here they are…the shots from the final KCAL Kegger of 2013! And yeah, there are plenty of them featuring the beautiful contestants in the Miss KCAL Rockmate Bikini Pageant (including our new Miss KCAL Rockmate for 2013/2014, Whitney, with STJ above). Check ‘em out and see if you can find yourself. If not, see what you missed and make your plans to join the fun next spring when Kegger Season returns!
Sammy Hagar returned to his hometown of Fontana recently to be honored by the city as part of their 100th anniversary celebration. In addition to serving as the Honorary Grand Marshalof the 2013 Fontana Days Parade, the town presented the “Red Rocker†with a sign for Hagar Way, a new street dedicated to their hometown hero.
After leading the parade on a float with his family by his side, Sammy was given the street sign that read ‘Hagar Way.’ Although no mention of a speed limit was made, judging by the namesake we can only assume that speeds in excess of 55 are highly encouraged, although perhaps not legal.
Hagar seemed genuinely touched by the gesture. After being given the sign he addressed the crowd, saying, “Something about in your hometown having a street named after you, that warms my heart. This is awesome. This is one of the favorite things that has been done for me in my whole career.†He also threw some love out to his brother, joking, “Only problem is I know my brother’s going to go around saying it’s his name too.â€
During the celebration Hagar was asked by the Fontana Herald how it felt to be a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to which the thankful Hagar replied, “It’s not as exciting as being the grand marshal of Fontana Days for the 100th anniversary of Fontana, my hometown!â€
On the musical front, Sammy will also be heading out on his ‘Four Decades of Rock’ tour kicking off at the beginning of June and dates through early September. No So Cal dates yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do!
