Have you ever heard of 2cellos? They’re a couple of dudes from Croatia that play dueling cellos to some of the all time great rock tunes. Here they are, joined by the one and only Steve Vai, doing AC/DC’s Highway To Hell. Enjoy!

In case you’re like me and completely forgot that they were showing the highlights on TV yesterday, here are some of the amazing tributes to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors a few weeks ago…

This Thursday, December 20th, marks the annual KCAL Holiday Blood Drive and it is time to prove once again that, as the Stu-man likes to say, “Rockers step up!”. We all get very busy around this time of year, and that is why it is so important that we help keep the blood supply up for those that desperately need it. Recent events have reminded us just how unpredictable that need can be. Please stop by one of the Lifestream locations through out the I.E. this Thursday and drop off a pint. Here’s a link to find the location nearest to you, or to make an appointment to make it even easier for you to donate. We’ll be kicking down a special KCAL Blood Drive T-shirt and a free meal at Bakers Drive Thru when you give the gift of life. Thanks!

Wow. You’ve probably seen Christmas light displays set to music before, but probably not quite like this. Check out this display synched to Metallica’s One, Battery, Hit The Lights, Creeping Death, and more…how much time does it take to put something like this together? It may be early in the season, but I think we’ve found our winner!

In case you missed it, quite the rare chance to see the surviving members of Zep together. Enjoy!

We got a great message on our KCAL Facebook page over the weekend that we thought we’d share. It comes from longtime KCAL Rocker Adam Boyle:

“Way back in 2003, you guys sent me a package full of fun stuff while I was on deployment in Iraq. You asked that I simply take some pictures with your banner and get them back to you. Unfortunately, things got lost, and I was not able to get that pic to you. But I recently found one of the photos! I’m happy that after all these years, I can give you this pictures of me (left) and some of the guys on my team, with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, posing with one of Sadam’s old armored personnel carriers, near Kirkuk, Iraq.”

Thanks for the photo, Adam, it made our day. And thanks for your service as well. You Rock!

Here’s one way to make the Thanksgiving visit with the family go a little smoother…make a round of Pumpkin Pie Shooters for everyone!

1 oz of Kahlua coffee liquer

1/2 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream

1/2 ounce of your favorite tequila

Just grab yourself a double shot glass and pour in the Kahlua, then slowly add the Bailey’s to make sure it doesn’t mix with the coffee liqueur, then float the tequila on top of that. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on it, and boom, Uncle Larry’s stories aren’t as tedious as usual!

Just in case you couldn’t make it to Boston yesterday doesn’t mean you can’t watch Aerosmith rock out in a concert on the street where they all used to share an apartment 40 years ago, right? Relax, crank up the computer speakers, and enjoy the whole show!

With Green Day’s lead singer in rehab for the rest of the year, someone had to step up and headline the big Voodoo Experience show in New Orleans for them. So, way to go Metallica for grabbing the spot of their fellow Bay Area rockers at the last minute and ripping it up for the crowd in the Big Easy! Courtesy of Rolling Stone magazine’s web site, here they are doing a little bit of Green Day’s American Idiot as an intro to their own Creeping Death…
